This book has unadorned brown leather covers with the only ornamentation being on the spine. The second and third compartments are leather inserts in red or tan that include part of the title and the volume information in gilt with borders. The other compartments have a centerpiece-4 corner abstract design that looks vaguely floral with the bottom compartment being so large that a floral border has been added. The edges of the covers have a line design gilt-stamped.
The textblock has been dipped in red dye and the endpapers are a comb marbling in red, blue, green, white, and yellow. Sewn into the headband is an orange ribbon that is a bookmark.
The paper is made of old rags and there are side-notes in the margins. The frontispiece and plates look like wood block engravings.
