Description
The covers of this book are a yellow linen-texture cloth with a plain back and a decorated front. The front cover includes painted stamped imagery of six included stories in orange, yellow, blue, and green, while in light blue the name of the story is stamped and painted in light blue. In darker blue in the center of the book is the title. The spine includes two figures from an additional two stories as well as the title and the selector's last name.
The paper for this book is made of wood pulp and this includes the endpapers that look coated, but simply are a different texture from the textblock. The endpapers are yellow that have been covered with a purple background allowing the yellow to come through as line drawings of different characters from the stories inside.
Since this is a compilation of stories held in copyright by other publishers, each story listed who owns the copyright. The illustrations are in a wide variety of style as they are reproduced from the original source or a famous version. Several of the stories were reprinted on white glossy paper. Because the illustrations are from the original source, their coloration is also different, meaning some are full color, others are black line drawings, and some are printed in two or three colors only. Consequently, the technique for creating the illustrations differs from lithographs to wood block to what looks like watercolor, so possibly intaglio.
