Description

The dust jacket is banded: orange, white (off-white), orange with the title and author in a white squiggly banner surrounded by black in the top orange section, while Japanese characters are printed in black in the white area. At the bottom, surrounding a flowery cactus, is the publisher's name. The back is different. It has an orange frame around a white box with information writing in Japanese. Inside, the text is English on one flap and Japanese on the other.
The paper covers are tan with dark brown bands that cut out the lettering in the background tan for the title and author, while the publisher's information is dark brown lettering that is smeared at the bottom.
A prior owner used some kind of marker to make the top edge of the textblock red. Because the coloring has unevenly soaked into the textblock, it is possible to tell that the color was not original, and the fact that other books owned by Mrs. Engelhardt's brother Daniel Pfeifer have the same red coloring, it is assumed he added it.
All the paper, including the dust jacket, is made of wood pulp, but there is only minor darkening of the paper.
