Description

This brown linen-pattern cloth cover book has an overall black semé thistle pattern inside the double black line borders of the front cover. The spine has the same semé thistle pattern, only there is a blank area for the black painted title.
The paper of this book is wood pulp of the worst sort as the entire textblock has darkened, and all the pages are now brittle, meaning they easily tear and the pages could start flaking away anytime someone opens the book.
Sir Walter Scott is famous for his historical novels, usually set in Scotland, but his most widely read book today, Ivanhoe, is set in Medieval England at the time of King Richard the Lionheart. Scott is considered the father of the historical novel. Although Scott is known for duing historial research for his novels, he was not always accurate.
Scott lived from 1771-1832.
