Description

The tan dust jacket for this book has an orange sun near the top spine corner that is rather large. Below this is the title in brown block lettering that is over the top of an orange circle design that is probably the publisher's decal because the publisher's name, not the author's name is at the bottom of the front cover. The back cover and spine are plain.
The embossed linen-textured red and gray cloth covers of the book are plain on the back and spine and the gilt stamping on the front is the title at the top, the publisher's decal is in the middle, and the publisher's name is on the bottom.
The author's name is first listed on the title page! The textblock of this book is made of wood pulp.
Swami Vivekananda was born Narendranath Datta in Calcutta, West Bengal, India. He is known for combining Hindu spirituality with Western progressiveness arguing that they complimented one another. As a disciple of Ramakrishna, he believed in ecumenicalism among religions and social justice for his people (male, female, rich, poor). He introduced Hinduism and the early interpretations of their spiritual practice of yoga through a series of lectures in the United States and England.
Vivekananda lived from 1863-1902.
